PERL KILLS PAPER

DocAgility has been working with its partner Adobe to deliver a print output solution to a large semi-state company. The company has a range of legacy back-end systems which generate a range of files feeding into a bulk print environment. DocAgility resources have delivered a significant element of the overall solution, using Perl scripting to convert files into a useable format for bulk output. Commenting on the success of this major piece of business for the company, Frank O’Beirne, Director, said ‘The solution took between four and five months to deliver and is part of our ongoing commitment to being a significant player in the intelligent documents space’. FORMS CONVERSION

Working with a partner for a world-leading banking organisation, DocAgility staff have adapted a large number of paper-based forms for delivery as intelligent forms.

The forms which were previously completed by hand and returned to a processing centre for manual input were becoming increasingly unmanageable due to incorrect completion, missing information and simple problems with illegible handwriting. All this required labour-intensive follow-up and delays.

The introduction of an intelligent forms solution has meant that the processing time has been significantly reduced and the bank has streamlined it processes freeing up staff to handle work higher up the value chain. [Aug ‘05]
