MicroTrade, a joint initiative between
InterTradeIreland, Enterprise Northern Ireland
and the City and County Enterprise Boards

CROSS BORDER CONTACT CONTINUE AT
DOCAGILITY
Based on its initial success at winning business
in Northern Ireland, DocAgility has been
selected as one of a few Microtrade companies to
feature at the Inter—Trade event in the Odessy
Arena in Belfast. The event allowed Microtrade
to introduce DocAgility to a range of potential
clients and partners in Northern Ireland seeking
links with an IT company in the intelligent
documents space. Microtrade showcased DocAgility
as a young fast growing company which is working
to establish cross-border links and how it can
be achieved with the right level of external
assistance and management energy and enthusiasm
for new business opportunities. [June ‘05].
PERL KILLS PAPER
DocAgility has been working with its partner
Adobe to deliver a print output solution to a
large semi-state company. The company has a
range of legacy back-end systems which generate
a range of files feeding into a bulk print
environment. DocAgility resources have delivered
a significant element of the overall solution,
using Perl scripting to convert files into a
useable format for bulk output. Commenting on
the success of this major piece of business for
the company, Frank O’Beirne, Director, said ‘The
solution took between four and five months to
deliver and is part of our ongoing commitment to
being a significant player in the intelligent
documents space’. [Sep ‘05]
FORMS CONVERSION
Working with a partner for a world-leading
banking organisation, DocAgility staff have
adapted a large number of paper-based forms for
delivery as intelligent forms.
The forms which were previously completed by
hand and returned to a processing centre for
manual input were becoming increasingly
unmanageable due to incorrect completion,
missing information and simple problems with
illegible handwriting. All this required
labour-intensive follow-up and delays.
The introduction of an intelligent forms
solution has meant that the processing time has
been significantly reduced and the bank has
streamlined it processes freeing up staff to
handle work higher up the value chain. [Aug ‘05]
ESTABLISHING CLIENT MARKETS
Working with its partner Viewpoint Solutions,
DocAgility has conducted a project to establish
the viability of developing a solution to
collect direct debit payments online. The
project, delivered over several months, has
resulted in the decision by our client in the IT
sector to make a major investment in the
development of a new service. With DocAgility
help, the solution has been scoped out with our
client planning its next phase of delivery for
the end of 2005. [Sept 05.

delivery project for a client in the IT sector.
Working with its partner, Viewpoint Solutions,
the company will extend its relationship with an
IT client in the payments industry. The project
will see senior staff involved in developing
detailed design documents and managing the
project for delivery into production in Q1/Q2
2006. [Dec 05]
